The Cambodian National Research Organization.
Accronym is ( CNRO ) was established on January 10th 2001 and
to be listed to the Ministry of Interior on March 1 st 2001.
CNRO is a non-governmental, non-profit and non-partisan organization;
it is a human rights organization. Its goal focuses on the
application with respect for rule of law, human rights, and
principle democracy in Cambodia. CNRO was born out of a group
of concerned and dedicated citizens, who have experiences in
the first hand of law. It's staffs are determined to do something
such as pushing to have good governance, eradicating corruption,
respect for rule of law, human rights and democracy principle.
Dr. Heang Rithy led members of the Committee Strict Law Enforcement for Human Rights in Cambodia (CSLHRC) of amount 11 persons to meet with ex-king Norodom Sihanouk on 30th June 2008 at the royal palace relating to the promotion and protection of human rights and democracy in Cambodia.
On February 2nd , 2006 Dr. Heang Rithy and
his colleagues had an audience with his royal majesty Prahbat
Norodom Sihamony in order to request his intervention to the
Royal Government of Kingdom of Cambodia to drop charge Excellency
Sam Raingsy, president of Sam Raingsy Party, Excellency Cheam
Channy parliamentarian, Excellency Dr. Say Bory, Excellency
Chea Poch, Prince Sisovat Thammekor; Mr. Cheam Mony, president
of Cambodian Free Union Worker, Mr. Yeng Virak, president of
Community Legal Education Center, Mr. Man Nath, president of
Cambodian Border Protection Organization, and Mr. Ear Channa,
deputy secretary-general of Student Movement for Democracy;
Mr. Kim Sokha, president of Cambodian Center for Human Rights
(CCHR),Mr. Pha Ngountheang, deputy-president of CCHR, Mr. Rong
Chhun, president of Cambodian Teacher Association, Mr. Mam
Sonangdo, director of Beehive Radio. As a result, all the above
human rights and democracy activists were amnestied, dropped
charge and released from Prison due to his Royal majesty did

Dr. Heang Rithy,
Minister, Secretary of State and senior officials of

to strengthen the justice system in Cambodia.

CNRO is cooperating well with Ministry of Woman Affairs in preventing and reducing domestic violence at tree target areas: sangkat Khmounh, sangkat Chom Chao and sangkat Trapaing Krasaing, Phnom Penh city.

Research and Investigation:
Research: detention of the accused persons in excess of pre-trial in violation of law, torture, inhuman and degrading treatment to accused persons or prisoners especially inconsistent detention of minors in jail, corruption and domestic violence case.
Investigate: criminal case with respect to preliminary charge of prosecutor by court of law,
Monitoring: To monitor law enforcement official and agents with respect to applicable law exists,
Legal Aid Service:
Receiving complaint from the poor and vulnerable victims especially minor;
Providing legal aid services to victims of human right abused free of charge;
Intervening human rights violation cases.
Advocacy: Lobbying and advocating with key government officials to respect for rule of law, human rights and democracy principle through letter, press release, conducting press conference, seminars, organizing community and demanding to have new laws for utilizing in Cambodia.
Good Governance and Anti-corruption:Educating, raising awareness on good governance for anti-corruption, and disseminating the research publicly through press release and press conference and urge the governmental competent institutions and court of law for prosecution and conviction of the corrupted officials or institutions involved.
Education and Awareness Raising: Educating and awareness raising the public on laws, human rights and democracy principles through training sessions, seminar and radio,
Anti-domestic violence: Educating domestic violence issues and related laws and preventing domestic violence
Radio Broadcasting:Broadcasting round-table discussion regarding on policy implementation debate, human rights and democracy principle.
